Lyrics:
Situation no win
Rush for the change of atmosphere
I can't go on so I give in
Gotta get myself right outta here Видеоклипы
Today's my bday, 60 years old and when driving to work this morning this song came on the radio. A nice present.
The Globe!
RAWWWK ON!!!!!
A beautiful present. I'm happy for you.
@@TheVampirePredator :)
WOW
Mick Jones and BAD was so good at running with and fusing styles and reflecting the times . The song and clip were laced with all that was going on in the Manchester rave scene with elements of sampling , hip -hop, funk , post -punk , acid jazz, psychedelia - its all there . Brilliant.
And the drop in from Peter Sellers talking about rhythm & melody is classic too.
@@nickyonstilts128 And a touch of Baba O'Reilly in the mix as well...
@@DavidGeelan2029 yes, I love that part!
Exactly :-)
My husband introduced me to Bad back in 92. He's been gone 9 years . Hearing this . I see him dancing on the coffee table.
I just heard Keith freaking Urban jam several bars of this live tonight in Hollywood FL. Blew my freaking mind, as I was "tagging along to a country show" with my KUrban super fan sister. I was very pleasantly surprised. She'd never heard of BAD. Freaked me out!
The production on this song is stunning. The piano tones, his voice, the drum sounds it’s still sounds fresh and state of the art, and cutting edge 30 years later.
The other thing that’s really amazing about this song is it was their biggest hit so they had the guts of an amazing song and they took a risk of fucking it all up with that weird shit in the middle of it, but he did it anyway and it worked. that’s the definition of Ballsy.
one of the mst fun sngs ever to air play invisible instruments too
This song reminds me of my Father before he passed away - dancing around the living room to this song blasting from the speakers. I miss those days.
👍🏼
I'm 55 and I remember rocking out to this song daily ! We had the best music !
Quit being stuck in the past, you geezer.
62 here🎉!
Most original music. Now its on repeat
Yeah, 55 here. Seems like a few minutes ago I was thirty.
57 still sounds fresh. Cheers!!!
this shit is deep af musically... clash soul, break beat, hip hop, soul, organ solos, broke ass vocals, ambient... wtf. mick jones. legend.
I see what you did there
Right on
One of the most underrated bands of all time.
Nope. Pretty popular actually.
@@topdeckdog Not as much in America.
killer track and a great band, thank you BAD...
@@lowenbad Agreed about both points. Not sure about the UK, but they weren't that well known in the US and it's obvious since their music videos only have a few million views, same for Spotify song plays, though a bit more for a couple of songs. The top cities for where listeners live are all in the UK and Australia. I grew up in an area that had a station that played them and other UK indie/alt bands a lot so if you asked me then, I would have assumed they were pretty mainstream. I realized later that wasn't common in much of the US and many haven't heard their songs.
@@the_letter_b they were one of the first rock bands that used samples and decks as part of the band’s overall sound…. Way back in the 80s! They are extremely influential to modern music, but not many people realize this. Personally, I like BAD just a bit more than The Clash. (Don’t kill me! Lol)
My old band “Lowenbad” was very influenced by them… mainly because we were a rock/ soul band that integrated samples into our sound.
I just don't think Mick Jones gets the recognition he deserves. Can't believe it took me so long to check out this project.
Amazing song and I just loved that they sampled Baba O'Reilly by The Who. That just made this so special.
And Deep Purples Child in Time
@@ewan_GTO Agree and anything from In Rock and Machine Head as well!!!!
Jones and the Clash inspired Who Are You
Wow. "Now I'm fully grown"... just moments ago, it seems to me, it was 1991 and I was 11, jamming to this song. Wow.
The question everyone is asking, though is: did you somehow stay thin while the other guys got fat?
I was fully grown 22, twice as old as u! We r much closer together in age now!
ha, i feel too young to be here sometimes... i was raised on my mom's music, this is what I listened to all the time on the way to school when I was 12 in 2016! still love the whole album, listen to it every now and then.
Ha.. Made me feel. The same... I close my eyes.. Im there!😁
Cute catchy edgy. Exactly
Clash and BAD were incomparable! I have so many fabulous fun memories during this pivotal musical period. Rest Peacefully Joe Strummer, miss you so!
Loved the Clash and Big Audio Dynamite. Now I am 66 years old. Love Joe Strummer. Great Memories, I was always hanging out on Melrose at the time and hitting the Hollywood Clubs. 80's and 90's were the best times for me. Now going to Melrose is too dangerous. That is messed up. How times have changed.
First five songs are seamless and work perfectly together. This album is so underrated.
Absolutely
Yeeeeeessssssss ❤
Yeah this is definitely an awesome album! very talented band
I still have the cassette! Play it sparingly, but when I do, I play it on blast & dance my ass off! Haha (same w/PIL)
@@maryw3581that was a good tour: BAD, PiL, Live, Blind Melon.
Was driving in Riverside CA when I saw a radio van and they were giving away tickets. How lucky! Got to see BAD II at a small club.....it was awesome! This music brings back memories 😊
Not that we understood when released, this masterpiece was well ahead of its time
Anyway bad did was well before there time just like th dk
situation no win
Don't tell me what i thought. At the time plenty of this knew it was sent from the future 🖕👽
@@topdeckdog How far into the future? When will we know we’ve reached that day?
My friend and I used to figure out where the samples came from on this album and megatop.
They were masters at that. Them and the bomb squad
Why does this music sound different than now? Mick was pushing the bar!
This song makes me want to dance
Me too and I don’t often dance
yes rush for a change of atmosphere
If I have my time again
I would do it all the same
And not change a single thing
Even when I was to blame
For the heartache and the pain
That I caused throughout my ears
How I learned to be a man
Through the laughter and the tears
Situation no win
Rush for a change of atmosphere
I can't go on, so I give in
Gotta get myself right outta here
Now I'm fully grown
And I know where it's at
Somehow, I stayed thin
While the other guys got fat
All the chances that I've blown
And the times that I've been down
I didn't get too high
Kept my feet on the ground
Situation no win
Rush for a change of atmosphere
I can't go on, so I give in
Gotta get myself right outta here
Yes, yes, delightful, delightful
Rush for a change of atmosphere
Mm, I wish I could sing like that
Not everything's singing, you know
The only important thing these days is rhythm and melody
Rhythm
And melody
And of all my friends
You've been the best to me
Soon will be the day
When I repay you handsomely
Broken hearts are hard to mend
I know, I've had my share
But life just carries on
Even when I'm not there
Situation no win
Rush for a change of atmosphere
I can't go on, so I give in
Gotta get myself right outta here
Situation no win
Rush for a change of atmosphere
I can't go on so I give in
Gotta get myself right outta here
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Outta here
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Outta here
Thanks for the lyrics ❤❤❤
That opening part is so brilliant. It brings a smile to my face and makes me want to jump up and dance.
This is what having a Narcissistic Mother is. They keep changing their complaints but never tell you how to win. They move the goal posts just as you get to reach them. I spent childhood trying to be perfect and as passive and polite as I could. Teenage years, I had so much rage built up!!! This would have been my teenage anthem!
Mick Jones.. pure genius... BAD and The Clash.. legend bands.. 2019 and still great.
This is a very unique song. I remember hearing it play out of great big speakers at a huge nightclub in the early nineties. Still rocks in its own special groovy way.
Homeboy is doing the Macarena @2:04 😮
An incredible piece of production. And a frozen moment in time.

Mick Jones is a fking genius.
A quintessentially 90s song
if you're a british dude named mick, does that automatically make you an all-time hall-of-fame front man?...what a timeless voice!
Or a superstar guitarist. Think of Mick Ronson.
So, here you go ...I'm 62 years wise, and your song and vid has gotta be in the top 50 right? Thanks for tis awesome song.
Ditto 62, and I'm still buzzin on B.A.D.
20 years dumb… been listening to this since highschool, reminds me of doing stuff with my dad. Play it when I need to get shit done
I can feel 1990/91 all over again?!! We need more music like this in this day and age...
I hated 90/91 at the time, but now oh how I wish I could go back...
@@GreenFlash1790 , I get what you mean here but it's still way better than now in the 2020's! Anything is...
Love the way they sample other classics, amazing song.

I Know , I Was KROQS first Van Driver.
@garyseven2798 Right on!!!!
There is a public radio station in Melbourne Australia 106.7 PBS FM. It’s been part of my life for the past 40 years. I would blast this song in my 1970 white VW Kombi.
Thank you Mick for helping me through some tough times. ❤
I heard this song playing over the loud speaker tonight at, of all places, my local bottle shop (a shop that sells alcohol for all those non-Aussies). The guy serving me and I reminisced for a few moments about the film clip. I'd Shazamed it while waiting in line to remind myself to buy it on iTunes when I got home. Still great memories all these decades later.
Thank you for that, as an American I would have just assumed that the bottle store is just a place to store bottles
2021 will be the 30 anniversary of this amazing record. This and The Globe were some early childhood memories of mine, great songs to this day!
We loved the 80 and we loved Big Audio Dynamite. We listened to it while driving, danced in the new wave clubs and enjoyed it so much. I just turned 57 years young and still love this music, because it brings back great times and great memories. That was the best era in music and a lot of great music came out of that era, including this song and this band.
Love this song so awesome
I heard this on the radio one day and thought it was some obscure Clash song lol. The. I discovered Big Audio Dynamite and explored their music 😎
Well, it's Clash adjacent, lol.

Well I guess you must be very young then, and good luck to you if you are. As for me, haha, I'm an old fart who remembers as if it was yesterday how huge this was when it first came out....
Welcome to my favorite childhood song! 😄
That instrumental break! So good!
The best samples in this song!!!
Rhythm and melody.
Haven’t heard this in decades! Bloody love it
Considering the unimaginable pressure to live up to his previous band's material, this stuff was fantastic..
About a million times better that post Jones Clash.
One of the key members of a band that literally changed music forever! Never to be repeated! London Calling for the Sandinista!!
A candidate for the most underrated song of all time.
It was a #1 hit in my country(Australia) so I personally can't class it as underrated.
One out of four music videos is unenhanced with the underrated song commentary, I got a chuckle out of someone last week who said this song is adequately rated, B.A.D. is awesome there's many words to describe it's joy

I have never understood why this band was not absolutely huge.
One of the coolest rock singers in my book!
Two years ago this became the theme song for my wife and me. We had it living in Northern VA and we decided to say fuck everything and move to Charleston SC. No job, no plan, no nothing. Fuck it. Well, we just got here 2 weeks ago and we are living the dream -- jamming to BAD and loving life so hard it is bringing tears to my eyes!!!!! Fuck it!
yay!! 😊
Kerry Steele I live in Northern Virginia. Your story brought a smile to my face.
Kerry Steele I'm from Va Beach and just recently moved to Summerville with my girlfriend. We love it here and are jamming out to BAD as well!
I hope it worked out.
"No job no plan no nothing..." fast forward 6 months...?
It was the early 90's, I was 15 and we were wearing crisp flannelette shirts buttoned all the way up and happy pants. This song was big, along with the emerging techno beats of L.A. STYLE James Brown Is Dead. Good times
Jones simultaneously lauds and lampoons styles and arrangements that influenced him, as well as his own limited vocal dexterity. "Not everything is singing."
It's so authentic. It's me.
Only thing that matters is rhythm and melody ... rhythm and melody.
and it figures, it takes a punk artist to do pop WELL!!!
Gleep Wurp
👌
That’s was perfect!
I was about to say the same quote, lmfao!!!
😜
delightful, delightful,... i wish i could sing like that............
This song came back to me at the right time, reminder of where I was and where I am now.

11/2024, introducing my almost 2yr. old grandson to this amazing song!!! Thrilled to say he loved it!!
Saw them live at 1992…. They opened U2 concerts in Mexico City! Wow…. More than thirty years ago!! Great song 🎧!
I saw them open for U2 in Christchurch NZ in 1989...
It’s amazing how only two root chords and using only those two chords in different variations of them can make an amazing song.

It terms of composition this has to be one of the oddest pop songs to be played regularly on the radio in the 90s.
But it was one of the coolest! 😊😁🎶🎶
it's STILL played a lot on radio.. every time i go to supermarket or department store i hear this song!
Yes, isn't it great? The entire Globe album is fantastic.
If you know the Clash, you know that was part of the plan.

Mission accomplished my friends!
Gotdamn MASTERPIECE, this.
Timeless.
Epic.
A legend of a jam.🥳🤭💫
This always makes me happy. Mick’s dancing🙌
This is a bloody good song. It reminds so much of my misspent youth. Special stuff.
Haven’t heard this song in like 25 plus years. It came across my feed and I forgot how much I liked it. All The Clash members were important, but it’s very clear who had the talent for pop hooks; Train In Vain, Should I Stay Or Should I Go, all written by Mick Jones. This could have been a huge hit for The Clash, had they not kicked out their hit machine.
I do not listen to this song a lot. But I do think of it often, and say things like "situation no win" and "i gotta get myself right, outta here"
Re-listening to it now, every line of the song is great.
Brilliant! Simply brilliant! Master of using samples. Love this group…always.

Man those were the days. The 80s were on the way out - but bands like Depeche Mode, OMD and The Pet Shop Boys had just released their swan-song (and arguably best!) albums, meaning the 80s went out with a bang! The 90s were just getting going, the rave-party was just kicking off. Bands like the Happy Mondays and The Farm (shout out!!) were bridging the two decades and musical styles - pop and rave. The Inspiral Carpets were in the middle of MADchester. The Stone Roses dropped their bombshell premier album. Primal Scream were holding it down north of the border. Stock, Aikman and Waterman were making LowdsaMooneh in London. The Smiths were off in left field with 0 synths, but making some of the best pop ever. Need I go on? You could FEEL the energy in those days, you could cut the air with a knife it was so exciting. And today?. . . . 100% total SHITE. BORING electronic drivel. ZERO creativity. ONE day of the 80s/90s ('Welcome to the 80s/90s. . . ") were better than 1000 days of today. And why? One word: technology. Kids today are only able to operate a cell phone, not much more. Technology is killing our humanity. People, stop worshipping technology or it will be the end of us as a race. Peace out to kids of the 80s/90s!
