👉 This is THE lesson. This is the part of Daniel's pentatonic diagonal course that is/was the moment that changed everything for me. I shattered 20 years of being stuck in a rut after this point,. achieved a level of playing in my 40s I didnt think I could hit in my 20s. That was 7 months ago, and since then my entire mindset about playing has evolved to believe I have the musician in me I want to be, and I'm doing it everyday. I'm a student of Daniels, and I'm not asked or paid to share this, I'm proof of the intermediate that got over the plateau, thanks to Daniels teaching and methods.
Thank you brother!! You are the man!!!
Dude your lessons have really given me a better way to see the fretboard. I’ve been playing for so long and there hasn’t been a lesson I’ve seen that explains it like you do. It has definitely given me a boost in motivation to make practicing fun again. THANK YOU!
That’s fantastic man! So glad they have been helpful and given some renewed inspiration!!
This is something I discovered from many years of just watching guitar players play, but I never knew why it was so. Thank you for the POV! ….And thank you for the Blue Notes.
Excellent! Appreciate the comment.
Those "Blue Notes" rule!
The bass sounds so good in your backing track
Thank you! That was me. :)
Love the 2-3 system I've known about this for a fair while now and it makes life so easy. I love how you can use it for both minor and major pentatonic... I can easily relate to what you say at 8:15 how you go to a different scale position and have no idea where the flat fifths are supposed to be so I'd always be restricted to just being able to play the blues notes in position 1 but again this is where learning the fretboard becomes such a useful tool... if you can look at any note on any fret and just immediately know what it is it's like a video game where you have an invincibility cheat. It's almost like it's impossible to stuff up =)
Totally!! Intervals + note names + common useful shapes = total fretboard freedom!
Very useful especially when starting out with lead guitar. Also the 3 2 system using the Major scale is a good one too 😁
Definitely! Thanks for the comment. Open Up The Fretboard With The "3-2 System"

@DanielSeriffMusic ah there it is! 🤣👍
Dan, your lessons are incredible. Thank you so much! You breathe fresh life into my playing.
Hey Sean! So glad they are feeling effective and helpful!! Music is the best!
Diagonal pentatonic scales are soooo helpful!!! Thank you!
Woohoo! So glad. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Daniel. This really helps my current study of the pentatonic scale. Appreciate it !
Wonderful! Thanks so much.
Thank you, appreciate your videos. The concept and examples you play are easy for me to follow - thanks for not blowing us away with your skill and just keeping it simple.
That is fantastic feedback. Here to really try and make a difference in the guitar community and I truly appreciate the comment.
Nice lesson. I look forward to working on this on my next practice. This will make my phrasing better too.
Excellent! 2:3 really helped me break out of boxes.
Thanks! Excellent tutorial! I've heard that pattern also be called "The Frying Pan."
Nice! That works. 3-2 and 2-3 are so effective!
The frying pan😂 awesome 👍 Scotland ✌️❤
Im very pleased with this lesson thank you very much
Thanks so much!
What? Wait! So the 2 - 3 system works for MINOR Pentatonic scales, and the 3 - 2 system works for the MAJOR Pentatonic scales? If that's so, then that's incredibly useful and a big 'lightbulb moment' for me! Thank you Daniel!
You got it! They are actually relative major and minors if you’ve checked that out. Yes! 2-3 minor. 3-2 major!
@@DanielSeriffMusic Brilliant - thank you very much for the knowledge! I'm at work right now (!) and I can't wait to get home and check that out. Relative majors and minors makes it even better!
That action 😳
Haha!
Thanks. Unique axe
Thanks so much! Made by Novo in Nashville.
Dan the man!! Can you speak on the use of the cushion ? Should I invest in one ? Hoping you give a brief explanation why
Heyo! It really helps to get the guitar up and make me not so slouchy. I am much better with it. Also makes it more similar to standing position.
They are on Amazon. Search guitar cushion large.
Damn I can tell you are a great teacher.
A shitty one wouldnt have a nova on his lap.
Hah! I love the Novo. Got it in 2017.
Lol! Yep, waiting for mine ...
Ooooh. Gonna be good.
That’ fine for 2 ,3 note per string but does not nullify caged for fretboard mapping and. Chord arpeggios plus scales combined
Never said it did.
This has COMPLETELY blown the pentatonic box out of the water!!! I’m 60 and FINALLY I can drop that awful system.
This is beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
🙏🏼
PS I love that guitar but I couldn’t deal with that action. 😂
Whoa man!!! So glad this is really working for you!!
Haha!! I think it’s an optical illusion. Most of my stuff is set medium low.
❤😊
Was this a reupload?
I changed the thumbnail and title
Cool, this is how I taught myself to solo before we had the internet. It's just a way to describe how the guitar is tuned, but that doesn't mean it won't help, it totally did for me.
Thanks for watching.
What on earth is that guitar?
It’s a Novo Serus TC made in Nashville. Got it in 2017.
That guitar always makes you look tiny
Haha. I think the cushion + guitar cause an optical illusion.
Bud Bundy???
Had to get another gig when the show got cancelled!
